Buttercups

Buttercups

(1 - 2 years)

The children have a bright, safe playroom where they are encouraged to express and develop their own personalities, whilst exploring various sensory activities through touch, taste, smell, sight and sound.

As children reach this stage of development, we encourage them to become stronger, more mobile and more sure of their balance by providing a wider range of physical activities.

From this stage onwards children are provided with a healthy, nutritious, cooked lunch as well as a snack consisting of toast, fruit and milk. These times are used to encourage social skills.

The children enjoy playing daily in the large garden or stretching their little legs on the walkway behind the nursery.

Parents provide nappies, creams, wipes and a change of clothing. These are kept in individual baskets in the changing room.

"This age is not only a step along the way to becoming a person but an exciting time in a child's development, which deserves to be recognised and celebrated in its own right"
